Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov affirmed that cooperation with Russia aligns with Kyrgyzstan's national interests following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kyrgyz capital.
"I want to reiterate the Kyrgyz Republic's unwavering commitment to strengthening allied relations and historical partnership with the Russian Federation. I want to emphasize particularly that this partnership serves the long-term national interests of the Kyrgyz Republic," Japarov stated.
The Kyrgyz leader noted that his country highly values bilateral cooperation with Russia "across nearly all levels."
"Our government agencies have received instructions to accelerate joint efforts in developing new promising directions for our bilateral agenda and identifying new areas of mutual interest. We have just signed a new package of bilateral documents covering education, healthcare, migration, security, economic, and military-technical cooperation," President Japarov continued.
He emphasized that the treaty-legal framework between the two states is exceptionally comprehensive.
"We likely don't have such a quantity of signed interstate, intergovernmental, and interagency documents with any other foreign state," Japarov concluded.
The leaders' negotiations in Bishkek resulted in the signing of eight cooperation agreements.
