Kazan Hosts International Olympiad in Islamic Studies and Arabic Language

The Russian Islamic Institute in Kazan hosted the International Olympiad in Islamic Studies and Arabic Language on November 12, marking a significant event in Russia's Muslim education landscape.

 

The competition brought together students from over 20 higher Islamic educational institutions across Russia, including Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Dagestan, Chechnya, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, and Moscow. International participants joined from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iran, India, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan.

 

 

The Olympiad was organized by the Russian Islamic Institute in partnership with the Muhammad bin Zayed University of Humanities (United Arab Emirates), with support from the Foundation for Islamic Culture, Science and Education based in Moscow.

 

The Muhammad bin Zayed University of Humanities was represented by its President, Professor Khalifa Mubarak Al-Dhahiri, who also serves as a member of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic World".

 

 

 

Rafik Mukhametshin, Rector of the Russian Islamic Institute and Kazan Islamic University, addressed participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the event's importance and its growing international prestige. Mukhametshin also serves as a member of the GSV "Russia-Islamic World".

 

 

 

 

 

The event was attended by Irek Shamgunov, Deputy Head of the Programs Implementation Department of the Group.
