It is necessary to demand that the Kazakh authorities assess the actions of nationalists against Russian-speaking citizens, which have nothing to do with the good-neighborly nature of relations between our countries and peoples, Konstantin Kosachev, deputy speaker of the Federation Council, told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.
In Kazakhstan, nationalists have organized checks on the use of the Kazakh language in stores and state institutions. They posted recordings of their raids on their YouTube channel. Russian-speaking citizens are also under pressure.
"It is necessary to demand that the Kazakh authorities give an assessment to these ugly actions of homegrown nationalists, which have nothing to do with the good-neighborly nature of relations between our countries and peoples," Kosachev said.
According to him, "our official reaction should be determined taking into account and depending on the official reaction from the Kazakh authorities, or, God forbid, its absence".
