The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB) has announced the seizure of a large arsenal of weapons and ammunition in the Osh region. According to official reports, this cache was specifically prepared for use in a planned coup d'état aimed at destabilizing the nation's political and social order.
Investigators have determined that the arsenal was intended for high-priority criminal activities, including the violent overthrow of the current constitutional government. The plotters were reportedly waiting for a "favorable" moment, such as a potential period of socio-economic or political instability provoked by domestic destructive forces.
The items seized include twelve Kalashnikov assault rifles along with eleven high-capacity magazines, two handguns, specifically a Beretta and a Makarov pistol, two sawed-off shotguns, 700 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber and over 120 rounds for the 9x18 mm and 9x19 mm handguns.
Eight specialized kits for firearm maintenance and cleaning.
The GKNB has indicated that the group behind the cache expected support from transnational criminal organizations and international terrorist groups. The primary objective was to restore a criminal-controlled power structure within Kyrgyzstan by installing a politician loyal to the "criminal world" once the coup was executed.
Currently, all seized items have been sent for forensic and ballistic examination. The security services are actively working to identify the high-level organizers, financial sponsors, and leaders responsible for coordinating this plot.
