Kyrgyzstan's PM Highlights Intensified Cooperation with Russia

12 September

Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov has observed significant progress in the development of comprehensive cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. He made this remark during a meeting in Bishkek with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.

“The relationship between Kyrgyzstan and Russia is at an exceptionally high level. There has been a clear intensification of political and trade-economic cooperation between our countries. The discussions and data presented at today's forum are undeniable evidence of this,” Zhaparov stated, according to the Kyrgyz government's press service. His comments coincided with the opening of the sixth Kyrgyz-Russian business forum in Issyk-Kul on September 12.

Zhaparov also pointed to the success of the 25th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Humanitarian Cooperation, which took place two months ago in Krasnoyarsk, as well as a bilateral interregional conference.

Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk echoed Japarov's sentiments, emphasizing that the bilateral relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan continue to grow within the framework of their strategic partnership and alliance. He reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to implementing previously agreed-upon decisions.

The sixth business forum in Issyk-Kul, organized by the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund with support from the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce, saw participation from a Russian delegation led by Overchuk. The delegation included representatives from major companies such as Rosatom, Gazprom, Azimut, and Moscow State University.
