Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi discussed the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran during a phone conversation, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The two diplomats emphasized the urgent need to halt hostilities and prevent the conflict from spreading further across the region.
“They underlined the importance of an immediate cessation of military actions and stressed the need to avoid a broader regional escalation that could have devastating consequences,” the statement said.
Lavrov and Al Busaidi also agreed on the critical importance of continued joint efforts to shift the confrontation toward a political and diplomatic track and to create conditions for a sustainable negotiation process.
