Lavrov to attend Russia - Islamic World group meeting

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in the March 6 meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" with ambassadors of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation accredited in Moscow. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Wednesday.

 

"On March 6, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to attend a meeting of the leadership of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" with ambassadors of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which are accredited in Moscow," the diplomat pointed out.

 

According to her, "the minister will address the audience with a welcoming speech, and Chairman of the GSV "Russia - Islamic World" and Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov will inform heads of diplomatic missions about the results of the group's activities in 2022, as well as its planned activities for the current year 2023. "They include a special meeting in Kazan in May this year and a visiting session in Kuala Lumpur in July," the diplomat noted.

 

"Representatives of federal and regional authorities, members of the group and heads of Russian regional associations have been invited to the meeting, which will be held at the Russian foreign ministry," Zakharova concluded.
