A Russian woman wanted through Interpol for her participation in an illegal armed formation in Syria has been extradited from Lebanon, Russian Interior Ministry spokesperson Irina Volk told reporters on Wednesday.
In January 2020, based on the request of the ministry of internal affairs of the Republic of Kalmykia, the figure was declared on the international wanted list. With the use of Interpol channels, her movements were tracked. In December 2020, she was detained in Lebanon. "Today at Beirut airport, law enforcement officers of the Lebanese Republic handed over Victoria Matsakova to Russian colleagues for transportation to Moscow," Volk reported.
