Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump and Chinese Premier Li Qiang are set to participate in the 47th ASEAN Summit scheduled for October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced.
The Malaysian premier also mentioned that Brazilian President Lula da Silva and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa have confirmed their attendance at the association’s summit.
Founded in 1967, ASEAN currently comprises ten Southeast Asian countries: Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. Since early 2025, Malaysia has taken over the ASEAN chairmanship from Laos on a rotational basis.
