Mali’s interim president, Assimi Goïta, will pay an official visit to Moscow in June, Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop announced during talks between the Alliance of Sahel States and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"We eagerly anticipate our president’s official visit to Moscow in June," Diop stated.
He highlighted the frequent and high-level engagements between Russia and Mali, emphasizing their importance in maintaining momentum in bilateral relations.
"I want to sincerely thank Russia on behalf of Mali for its unwavering and continuous support. Russia was one of the very few—perhaps the only—partner that stood by us at a time when many African countries hesitated," Diop added.
