Matviyenko, Emomali Discuss Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation

Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko met with Rustam Emomali, Chairman of Tajikistan's National Assembly Majlisi Milli, to discuss inter-parliamentary cooperation, according to the upper house's press service.

 

The meeting between the heads of the two parliamentary chambers took place ahead of the main events of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly's fall session in Dushanbe on November 13-14. The officials discussed bilateral parliamentary cooperation and the development of cultural and humanitarian ties, covering a wide range of mutual interests.

 

 

Matviyenko thanked her Tajik counterpart for hosting the CIS IPA Council's off-site meetings and session in Dushanbe during Tajikistan's CIS chairmanship, and for the warm reception extended to the Russian delegation.

 

Rustam Emomali warmly welcomed his Russian colleague, noting the steady development of bilateral cooperation, including through parliamentary channels.

 

Matviyenko is leading the Russian parliamentary delegation participating in the CIS IPA fall session events in Dushanbe.
