Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of Tatarstan, met with Tariq Ali Bakheet, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Humanitarian, Cultural, and Social Affairs. The meeting took place at the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to Tariq Ali Bakheet for visiting Kazan and for the support provided by the OIC. He emphasized that the strong and multifaceted relations between Russia and Muslim states continue to develop, grounded in equal partnership.
“Tatarstan is proud of its contribution to the development of Russia's ties with the OIC. The Group of Strategic Vision “Russia-Islamic World” works in close cooperation with your Organization. We are pleased to maintain an ongoing dialogue with both the OIC Central Office and its individual structures. We also have strong relationships with the Islamic Development Bank, the OIC Standing Committee on Trade Cooperation, the OIC Youth Forum, the Academy of Sciences of the Islamic World, and several other organizations,” Minnikhanov stated.
Tariq Ali Bakheet was in Tatarstan's capital to participate in the Kazan Global Youth Summit. This major youth forum for the OIC brings together heads of agencies responsible for youth policy to discuss cooperation in this area. The summit, held from August 21-24, will gather delegates from over 40 countries. Participants will explore current topics such as digital trends and solutions in the youth environment, the role of modern technologies in the upbringing of children and youth, and the importance of traditional values in shaping future generations.
