Minnikhanov: Russia to Develop Joint Partner Financing Projects with Kazakhstan

11 November

Russia plans to establish mechanisms for implementing joint partner financing projects with Kazakhstan, according to Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of Tatarstan and Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia-Islamic World”, speaking to TASS ahead of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's state visit to Russia.

“The upcoming state visit of Kazakhstan's president to Russia will certainly provide strong momentum for our cooperation. It sends a clear signal to regions and businesses that our countries remain close partners, both geographically and culturally,” Minnikhanov stated.

“We intend to enhance our work through the GSV 'Russia-Islamic World',  which I chair under President Putin's mandate. Specifically, we will develop frameworks for implementing joint partner financing projects,” he added.

Minnikhanov emphasized the importance of translating presidential agreements into concrete projects, noting that Kazakh businesses are already actively investing in Russia, with Tatarstan serving as a key entry point to the Russian market.

“Kazakhstan has consistently been our leading international partner. Bilateral trade reached $760 million in 2024,” he said, adding that Tatar companies maintain significant operations in Kazakhstan's automotive, oil, and petrochemical sectors.

President Tokayev's state visit to Russia on November 11-12 will include discussions on strengthening strategic partnership across political, trade, economic, and cultural spheres, along with key regional and global issues.
