Mishustin Meets with Japarov in Cholpon‑Ata

14 August

During his official visit to Kyrgyzstan, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin met with the country’s President Sadyr Japarov. The talks took place in Cholpon‑Ata on the shores of Lake Issyk‑Kul.

Joining the meeting on the Russian side were Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk and Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov.

Earlier, Mishustin had already held talks with Kyrgyz Cabinet Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev and attended a restricted‑format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

Japarov had visited Russia in July for talks with President Vladimir Putin, during which the two leaders discussed, among other issues, the operations of Russian companies in Kyrgyzstan, investment, and education cooperation. Shortly before Mishustin’s trip—on August 10—the presidents of Russia and Kyrgyzstan also held a telephone conversation.
