Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister, received on Wednesday the new Somalia Ambassador to Russia, Hassan Abdi Daoud, who presented him with copies of his credentials, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
"The sides discussed prospects for building up Russian-Somalia cooperation in various spheres with an emphasis on deepening political dialogue and expanding mutually beneficial trade and economic ties," the ministry pointed out.
The sides also exchanged views on the problems of promoting socio-political processes in Somalia. "The Russian side confirmed its unwavering support for the efforts of Somalis to build democratic institutions of power in the interests of ensuring the territorial integrity, security and sovereignty of the country," the diplomatic office added.
