Next Russian-Iranian consultations on international cybersecurity to be held in Tehran

Andrei Krutskikh, the Russian presidential special envoy for international information security cooperation and director of the International security department of the Russian foreign ministry, agreed with Reza Najafi, acting deputy foreign minister of Iran and director-general of the Iranian foreign ministry's directorate for peace and international security, to hold the next round of Russian-Iranian inter-agency consultations on international information security (ISI) in Tehran.


The Russian diplomatic office said the next round of Russian-Iranian interdepartmental consultations on international information security was held in Moscow on October 1 and included "a wide range of issues of cooperation in the sphere of ensuring ISI on international platforms and in the bilateral format."


"[The sides] exchanged views on the strategic approaches of Russia and Iran in the area of ISI. They discussed prospects for building a direct interagency dialogue on the basis of the 2021 Russian-Iranian intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of information security," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement following the Iranian diplomat's visit to Moscow. - "An agreement was reached to continue consultations and hold the next round in Tehran. Specific dates will be determined through diplomatic channels".
