More than 40% of patients with kidney failure in the Gaza Strip have died as a result of Israeli military strikes on hospitals and dialysis centers, according to the Health Ministry of the Palestinian enclave.
“At least 41% of patients with kidney failure died during the war because they were denied access to medical facilities and dialysis centers that were destroyed by Israeli strikes,” the ministry stated.
Officials also reported that on June 1, Israeli forces destroyed the Nura al-Kaabi dialysis center in northern Gaza. “This center provided essential treatment for all kidney patients in the northern region. Its destruction is a disaster with consequences that cannot be overstated,” the ministry added.
