Pakistan Foreign Ministry: Trump's Gaza Plan Fails to Incorporate All Proposals from Islamic Nations

03 October

The 20-point conflict resolution plan for Gaza proposed by US President Donald Trump does not fully incorporate the proposals put forward by a coalition of Arab and Islamic countries, according to Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

Addressing the Pakistani parliament, Dar stated that Trump's plan omits several of their key proposals, as reported by Reuters.

Earlier reports indicated that several key Arab and Islamic nations had proposed amendments to the American ceasefire initiative for Gaza. According to sources, these amendments suggest that the Palestinian movement Hamas would “lay down its weapons rather than disarm completely,” and that “the Gaza sector's borders would be controlled by international forces.”

Furthermore, the Arab countries demanded a “complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza sector” and the “establishment of a technocratic Palestinian administration in the enclave under UN Security Council supervision.” Another key point is the mandatory participation of the Palestinian National Authority in the future governance of the territory.

The White House had previously published its plan to resolve the conflict in Gaza, which calls for a complete cessation of hostilities and the release of hostages within 72 hours. The document also proposes placing the sector under external administration during a transitional period, while allowing residents currently in the enclave to either leave or return.
