Palestinian Foreign Minister Stresses the Need to End Aggression

24 September

Palestinian Foreign Minister Muhammad Mustafa emphasized the urgent need to stop Israel’s aggression in Palestinian territories and address the country’s economic challenges during his speech at the Summit of the Future, held at the UN headquarters.

“Palestine shows social resilience at the national level,” he stated. “Now, it is crucial to put an end to [Israel's] aggression and extend this resilience beyond the social sphere to the economy, infrastructure, and other areas of development.”

“We are striving to play a positive role in addressing global issues, but unfortunately, this process is being undermined by Israel's occupation and aggression in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem,” the minister continued. “For over 76 years, our people have had to struggle with man-made and numerous disasters that have hindered our efforts to secure justice, peace, and prosperity.” According to the Palestinian Foreign Minister, “right now, the people of Gaza are enduring one of the darkest chapters in world history.” “For nearly a year, Israel has been waging a genocidal war, creating an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe,” he said. “At the same time, people in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are facing systematic threats, suffering from escalating settler violence, military raids, movement restrictions, and financial blockades.”

“Despite the occupation, our people remain determined to defend their interests,” Mustafa emphasized. He added that the Palestinian authorities are committed to creating conditions where “every Palestinian man and woman can thrive in an environment of peace and stability.”
