Pashinyan Thanks Putin for Supporting Armenia–Azerbaijan Peace Process

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his role in supporting the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing confidence that the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku will also help strengthen ties between Yerevan and Moscow.

 

At a meeting with Putin, Pashinyan noted that “important and positive developments” are taking place in the South Caucasus. “I would like to thank you for supporting the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he said. “As we discussed in our phone conversation after August 8, the peace that has been achieved will open new opportunities for the further development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Russia.”
