Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has described recent media reports suggesting that the United States might use tactical nuclear weapons against Iran as mere speculation, warning that such a scenario would be catastrophic. His comments were given to TASS in response to those reports.
Back in March 2025, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stated that American intelligence agencies had found no evidence that Iran was working to develop nuclear weapons. According to her, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has not authorized the revival of the nuclear weapons program, which was halted in 2003. However, Gabbard emphasized that the US intelligence community continues to closely monitor Iran's nuclear activities.
