Iran is ready to resume negotiations with the United States, but trust remains an issue. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said this in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.
“We see no problem in resuming negotiations,” the president assured.
“[However] there is a caveat regarding the resumption of talks,” Pezeshkian noted. “How can we trust the United States again? We’ll come back to the table — but how can we be sure that during the talks the Israeli regime won’t be given the green light to attack us again?” the Iranian president asked.
He also stressed that Israel’s actions have created “a crisis that must be overcome.”
“As I said, there is a crisis that we must overcome. And there is a condition [for resuming talks],” Pezeshkian added.
