President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune said he will visit Russia in May 2023 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"My visit to Russia is on, it will take place in May this year at the invitation of the Russian president," the Algerian leader said Tuesday in an interview with Al Jazeera.
He also said that "Algeria is suitable for a mediating role in the Ukrainian crisis." "We are one of the few countries that have enough credibility for this," Tebboune stressed.
Last December, in an interview with Le Figaro, the Algerian president said that he "neither supports nor condemns the Russian operation in Ukraine."
