Africans will not forget how their children were taken to Europe to be exhibited in cages, even in the 1950s, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during his address at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
"If you look at Africa and our cooperation, yes, we provided assistance, but what about the former colonizers? In 1957, as recently shown in pictures, people from Africa were brought to European countries, like Belgium. It was unbearable to watch; children were confined in cages, put on display. They brought people in cages and exhibited them, even whole families, and kept children in cages separately. How can one forget that? Nobody in Africa will forget it," Putin expressed.
