Putin Begins State Visit to Kazakhstan

27 November

Russian President Vladimir Putin has commenced his state visit to Kazakhstan. The official welcome ceremony took place at the Akorda Presidential Palace in Astana, where the leaders of the two nations exchanged firm handshakes with members of their respective delegations. The event included a formal report delivered by the officer in charge of the honor guard and the playing of the national anthems of both countries by a military orchestra, as outlined by diplomatic protocol.

Following the ceremony, the presidents reviewed the honor guard assembled in the palace foyer before proceeding to bilateral talks scheduled in both narrow and expanded formats.

The Akorda ("white headquarters") residence, built in 2004, is located at the heart of Kazakhstan's capital, Astana. Surrounding it is the city’s administrative hub, including the government building, the two chambers of parliament, the House of Ministries, and other key governmental offices. Nearby landmarks include the Bayterek Monument, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, and the Khan Shatyr shopping complex.

The Akorda residence, characterized by light tones accented with gold, blue, and green, covers a total area of 36,720 square meters, with a spire reaching a height of 86 meters. It stands as a symbol of modern Kazakhstan's architectural and cultural identity.
