Putin congratulates Mirziyoyev on Uzbekistan's Independence Day

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Uzbekistan's Independence Day. The congratulatory telegram was published on the Kremlin website on Thursday.


"Your country has achieved universally recognized successes in the economic and social field. Uzbekistan rightfully enjoys a high reputation on the global stage and plays an important role in addressing topical issues of the international agenda," the message reads.


The president noted that relations between the two countries are developing dynamically in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. "I am convinced that through joint efforts we will ensure the further building up of the whole range of mutually beneficial bilateral ties. This undoubtedly meets the interests of the friendly peoples of Russia and Uzbekistan, and goes in line with the strengthening of stability and security in the Central Asian region," he stressed.


Putin wished Mirziyoyev strong health and success, and happiness and prosperity to all citizens of Uzbekistan.


Uzbekistan celebrates a national holiday - Independence Day. On August 31, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Uzbek SSR adopted a statement on state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
