Russian President Vladimir Putin and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed topical issues of Russian-UAE cooperation by phone, the Kremlin press service said Tuesday.
"The parties considered topical issues of Russian-Emirati cooperation. A high assessment was given to the achieved level of cooperation in political, trade and economic and other areas. The importance of constructive joint work within the framework of international organizations, primarily the United Nations, was noted. The sides expressed their willingness to further comprehensive development of bilateral relations of strategic partnership," the statement reads.
Also in the course of the conversation, topical issues of Russian-Emirati cooperation were discussed. The two sides expressed their mutual commitment to further comprehensive development of bilateral relations of strategic partnership and agreed to continue interaction and contacts at various levels.
Putin discussed with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi the implementation of the OPEC+ agreements.
The president also detailed to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi the reasons and objectives of the Russian operation in Ukraine.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in his conversation with Putin stated Russia's right to ensure national security. "The situation around Ukraine was considered. Vladimir Putin outlined in detail the reasons, goals and tasks of the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass," the Kremlin noted. The press service stressed that "in turn, Mohammed Al Nahyan stated Russia's right to ensure national security."
