20 March 2023

Relations between Moscow and Beijing contribute to strengthening multipolarity in the world, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday at a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"In general, our interaction in the international arena certainly contributes to strengthening the fundamental principles of the world order and multipolarity," the Russian leader said.

Putin stated that the two countries have a lot of issues to discuss in the sphere of economic interaction as well. "Tomorrow we will be able to talk about it with our partners and colleagues. And today I am very glad that you have found time to come in the evening to have an informal, friendly talk on all the issues of interest to us," the Russian head of state concluded. "Welcome," he greeted his counterpart.

The main talks between Putin and Xi Jinping will take place tomorrow. They will be held, among other things, in an enlarged format - with the participation of delegations.
