Putin Ratifies Agreement with Malaysia on Double Taxation

02 November

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law ratifying a new agreement between the governments of Russia and Malaysia to eliminate double taxation on income and prevent tax evasion. The document, prepared by the Russian government, was officially published.

The previous agreement, initially signed between the USSR and Malaysia, required updating due to evolving economic conditions in both countries. According to supporting materials, the new agreement aims to prevent individuals and entities from both nations from paying taxes twice on the same income in their home country and the partner country. This move is expected to boost mutual investment opportunities and create favorable conditions for eliminating double taxation for businesses and individuals alike.
