Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that deepening cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) aligns with the core interests of its member states. Speaking at the informal CIS summit, he affirmed the collective commitment to addressing various challenges.
"I firmly believe that strengthening our partnership across diverse fields within the CIS is in the fundamental interests of our nations. I am confident that we will continue to work together on resolving socio-economic development tasks, as well as enhancing stability and security," Putin stated.
The Russian leader extended his best wishes to Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, as Tajikistan is set to assume the CIS chairmanship in 2025. "I would like to wish Emomali Sharipovich [Rahmon] and all our Tajik friends great success. From our side, we are ready to provide all necessary support," Putin said.
Concluding his remarks, Putin conveyed New Year greetings to the leaders and citizens of the CIS nations. "Allow me to extend my heartfelt congratulations for the upcoming New Year and my wishes for robust health, happiness, prosperity, and well-being to the citizens of your countries," he said.
