Putin to Hold Talks with Kyrgyz President on July 2

01 July 2025

Russian President Vladimir Putin will host Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov for high-level talks at the Kremlin on July 2, as part of Japarov’s working visit to Russia. The agenda was announced by the Kremlin press service.

“The talks will focus on current issues concerning the further development of the Russia–Kyrgyzstan strategic partnership and alliance in the political, trade and economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres,” the Kremlin said in its statement.

The last in-person meeting between Putin and Japarov took place in Bishkek in 2023, where they addressed key aspects of bilateral cooperation across political, economic, military-technical, and cultural sectors, and signed several agreements.

Russia and Kyrgyzstan maintain close and friendly relations. The two leaders recently met during the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) events on June 26–27. In May, Japarov visited Moscow to attend celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Kyrgyz foreign minister has previously stated there is mutual understanding and no disagreements in the countries’ relations.
