Russian President Vladimir Putin wished his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev success in implementing all planned reforms.
"I would like to sincerely wish Tokayev success in implementing all the plans, large-scale transformations in the political, social and economic life of the country," the Russian head of state addressed Tokayev, congratulating him once again on his victory in the election. The leaders speak from the Kremlin via video link to participants of the Russia-Kazakhstan interregional cooperation forum on Monday.
Putin greeted Tokayev in Moscow, where he is on his first official visit since being re-elected president of Kazakhstan.
"We had a prior condition to address the participants and guests of the 18th Russia-Kazakhstan Forum of regions together, and, of course, we are glad that about 40 heads of authorities of the two countries, legislators, representatives of ministries and departments, scientific and social circles gathered together in Orenburg," Putin said.
According to him, in this broad format they discuss "the really important issues of bilateral cooperation in very different spheres - politics, economics, humanitarian field, new joint projects are planned." The president of Russia drew attention to the main theme of the forum - the elimination of infrastructural restrictions in international trade.
"Russian-Kazakhstan interregional forums are traditionally held with a high impact, in fact contribute to the expansion of a network of partnership contacts between the subjects of the Russian Federation and the regions of Kazakhstan, thus making a significant contribution to the development of the whole complex of multipolar and mutually beneficial interaction between our states," Putin stressed.
