Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended his best wishes to Kyrgyz representative Taalatbek Masadykov, who will succeed Kazakhstan's Imangali Tasmagambetov as Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
"I would like to once again wish success to the Kyrgyz representative assuming the position of CSTO Secretary General. We will certainly provide him with all necessary support," Putin stated during the expanded format meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council. He also thanked Kyrgyzstan for hosting the summit.
Putin added that Russia, during its upcoming CSTO chairmanship, considers enhancing the organization's informational and analytical capabilities and expanding its network of auxiliary and advisory mechanisms as priority objectives. "For instance, we believe establishing an Association of CSTO Analytical Centers focusing on international relations and security would be timely," the Russian leader noted.
He also emphasized the importance of developing inter-parliamentary cooperation to harmonize national legislations among member states. "Given the growing volume of tasks facing our Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff, we propose actively addressing improvements in their operational efficiency, structural optimization, flexible adaptation to contemporary realities, and creating conditions for attracting highly qualified personnel to our joint work," the head of state concluded.
