Qatar and Egypt reaffirm their commitment to resolving the Gaza conflict and are calling on the international community to pressure Israel into accepting a ceasefire, said Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
“We anticipate further steps from Israel following recent efforts to reach agreement on releasing hostages and prisoners, as well as establishing a ceasefire that could lead to ending the war. Unfortunately, these efforts are encountering obstacles. It’s now clear that the international community bears responsibility for lifting the blockade on our brothers in Gaza,” he said during a press briefing after meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
“Qatar and Egypt remain dedicated to bringing this war to an end, despite attempts to derail these efforts. We urge the international community to pressure Israel to at least stop the starvation in Gaza,” he added.
