Rahmon Calls for Strengthening Societal Moral Foundations

23 October

Measures to enhance the spiritual and moral foundations of society will help counter terrorist threats along the southern borders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), stated Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in his address to participants of the Third CIS Conference on Countering Terrorism and Extremism in Dushanbe.

“Stability in Afghanistan remains crucial for the security of Tajikistan and the wider region. The increasing activity and cultivation of terrorist theories and practices along our region's southern perimeter has become a persistent trend,” the address noted.

“These circumstances necessitate developing and implementing targeted measures to strengthen societal immunity, enhance its resilience, and reinforce spiritual and moral values as a counterweight to these challenges,” the message continued, as delivered by Secretary of the Republic's Security Council Yusuf Rahmon.
