Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have transferred the bodies of 30 Palestinians to the Gaza Health Ministry. The individuals had been killed during hostilities in the enclave and had been held by Israeli authorities until now, according to a special statement from the ministry.
The ministry reported that "the number of Palestinian bodies received [from Israel] has now reached 195." Special teams are continuing to examine and identify the remains before releasing them to families of the deceased.
Gaza health officials stated that medical examinations revealed signs of beatings, ill-treatment, and handcuffs on some of the bodies. So far, only 57 of the bodies handed over by Israeli authorities have been identified.
The remains of 54 unidentified individuals have been buried in a designated cemetery in the central Gaza Strip.
