Participants in the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum will discuss cooperation between the African continent and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), according to the Roscongress Foundation, which spoke to TASS.
"The discussions will cover cooperation in areas such as security, economics, and humanitarian engagement. Topics include international information security, counterterrorism, preventing an arms race in space, trade and investment partnerships, food security, the agricultural sector, geological exploration, the transfer of skills, and the digitalization of public administration. Education, the training of diplomatic personnel, healthcare, and epidemiological well-being will also be addressed," the organization stated. Special attention will be given to collaboration between African nations and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Anton Kobyakov, the Advisor to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the organizing committee for Russia-Africa events, noted that relations between Russia and African countries are at a pivotal stage of development. "We are witnessing a high level of cooperation in various areas, from implementing economic and humanitarian projects to joint work in the field of scientific and technical cooperation. The conference’s agenda covers the full spectrum of pressing current issues. I am confident that this upcoming event will bring new momentum to Russia-Africa relations within the existing dialogue framework," he emphasized.
Roscongress also noted that the conference’s business program will include key African ministers, regional organizations, representatives of government bodies, financial institutions, businesses from both Russia and Africa, as well as members of the academic, public, and media sectors.
The ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum will take place on November 9-10, 2024, in the federal territory of Sirius, the foundation added.
