Russia and OIC Countries Agree to Revive Islamic Countries Media Forum

04 December

The media forum of journalists and bloggers from Islamic countries will be revived. This decision was made during a working meeting between a Russian delegation and the Union of News Agencies (UNA) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), according to the Group of Strategic Vision (GSV) “Russia–Islamic World”, as reported by TASS.

The roundtable discussion took place in Jeddah and was organized by the GSV “Russia–Islamic World”.

“Participants discussed the results of the joint work between the UNA OIC, Russian media, and the GSV in developing the media sphere. One of the key decisions was the resumption of the media forum for journalists and bloggers from Islamic countries,” the statement reads.

Furthermore, the roundtable served as an opportunity to review the results of information cooperation between Russia and the countries of the Islamic world.

The media forum has been held since 2015 with the support of the GSV. In 2021, the event was incorporated into the program of the “Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum” International Economic Summit. In 2023, the UNA OIC endorsed the forum's continuation.
