Rosstandart and the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection of Tajikistan have signed an agreement on mutual recognition of standards and technical regulations. This was announced Thursday in Dushanbe by Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov, head of the Intergovernmental Commission for Military and Economic Cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
"On the margins of today's commission, an agreement was signed with Tajikistan, between the two agencies, <...> on the mutual recognition of standards and technical regulations. This also forms the basis for a common industrial policy and unification of approaches (within the CSTO)," he said after the meeting.
Earlier on Thursday, speaking at the session of the commission, Manturov noted that the unstable situation in the world sets a task for the CSTO to increase the defense potential and one of the main tools for achieving that goal is the development of scientific and industrial cooperation for the production of military products, their modernization and repair.
The Interstate Commission for Military-Economic Cooperation was established by the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council on June 23, 2005. Its mission is to develop recommendations and make decisions within its competence to ensure multilateral military-economic and technical cooperation in priority areas of cooperation within the CSTO format.
