Russian Ambassador Highlights Constructive Cooperation with Uzbekistan at UN

24 October

Russia and Uzbekistan maintain constructive cooperation at the United Nations, supporting initiatives for regional security, sustainable development, and human rights protection, stated Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Alexey Yerkhov in comments marking the 80th anniversary of the UN Charter.

"Our countries work constructively at the UN platform, backing initiatives aimed at strengthening regional security, sustainable development, and human rights protection," the diplomat was quoted by the Russian Embassy's press service. "Both nations consistently advocate for a just, sustainable, and multipolar world where dialogue and respect for international law remain paramount."

Yerkhov emphasized that Russia, as a founding UN member and permanent Security Council member, remains steadfastly committed to the organization's charter principles. "These principles—sovereign equality of states, non-interference in internal affairs, and peaceful dispute resolution—remain fully relevant today," he stressed.

The ambassador described the UN as maintaining its unique role over eight decades as a universal platform for developing collective solutions to global challenges. "Russia consistently supports strengthening the UN's central role in international affairs, balancing interests, and ensuring equality among all states," Yerkhov stated. "I am convinced the spirit of the UN Charter will continue to serve peace, security, and progress for current and future generations."
