Russian Ambassador to Ashgabat Ivan Volynkin expressed high regard for Turkmenistan's offer of assistance to children affected by the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall during a conference marking the third anniversary of the establishment of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assisting Children in Need.
"I wish to highlight the international dimension of the Foundation's work. There are certain situations that, despite their severity, contribute positively to our bilateral ties, demonstrating genuine and unwavering friendship and the willingness to lend support in times of need. A prime example of this was the proposal from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov (TASS note), conveyed during a phone call with Valentina Matviyenko, the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, with whom he has maintained a longstanding relationship. The discussion centered on the Foundation's intention to aid children impacted by the terrorist incident on March 22 this year in the Moscow Region," reported the official newspaper "Neytralny Turkmenistan" quoting the ambassador.
Volynkin reminded that Berdimuhamedov highlighted Turkmenistan's readiness to extend all possible assistance to the injured children, who could be accommodated in the country's most advanced medical and health centers, equipped with facilities for their physical and psychological rehabilitation. He also commented on the significant humanitarian aid dispatched by the Foundation in August of the previous year to the children in Russia's Primorsky Krai, who were affected by a devastating flood, emphasizing the impact and necessity of such aid.
"Undoubtedly, gestures like these are worth a lot. The innate readiness of Turkmenistan's people to assist their neighbors in times of great calamity is deeply ingrained in their ethos. They fondly recall the aid received from across our once-shared homeland, which many of us remember, in response to the catastrophic earthquake of 1948," Volynkin stated.
