Participants in the conflict in Sudan have not tried to seize the Russian embassy in Khartoum, Russian Ambassador to Sudan Andrei Chernovol told TASS on Tuesday.

Commenting on reports by the country's armed forces that representatives of the rapid support forces seized the building of the Omani embassy in Khartoum and stole a car belonging to the diplomatic mission, the diplomat said that no incidents were recorded with regard to the Russian embassy.

"No one has captured us or even tried to capture us," Chernovol noted. - "All measures have been taken since the first minutes of the conflict. We recommend to all our citizens not to leave their places of residence. And we're following this strictly."

Russian citizens are not among the victims of the conflict in Sudan at the moment, he said. "No Russian citizens are among the victims of the conflict in Sudan at the moment. Everyone who was able to get in touch with is alive and well," the diplomat said answering a related question.

The embassy is provided with all the necessary medicine and food for the Russians accommodated there, Chernovol said. "Yes, everything necessary is there," he told TASS.

The situation in Khartoum has not fundamentally changed, there is nothing to say yet on the possible evacuation of Russians, Chernovol said. "We are certainly monitoring the situation. Unfortunately, I have nothing to add or comment on changes in this or that direction. <...> In our opinion, the situation has not changed much," the diplomat said in response to a question about the possible evacuation of Russians amid fighting in Khartoum.

The day before, the ambassador noted that the fighting in the city continues, but its overall intensity has decreased since the start of the conflict in the country.

Earlier, Chernovol said that the Russian side was working on the issue of evacuation of Russians from Sudan, weighing all risks. He explained that the delay is due to the assessment of certain risks and threats that need to be minimized.

Thousands of foreign citizens have been evacuated from Sudan in recent days. Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and France have closed their embassies in Khartoum. Many other states are reducing their diplomatic presence or relocating to nearby countries.
