Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Ambassador of Benin to Moscow Andre Akambi Okunlola-Biau discussed crisis resolution in Africa during a meeting on Thursday.
"During the conversation the sides exchanged views on current international and regional issues with a focus on the settlement of crisis situations on the African continent. At the same time, Moscow and Cotonou confirmed their willingness to deepen political dialogue and coordinate their positions in the UN and other multilateral structures," the Russian diplomatic office said in a statement issued.
The foreign ministry noted that during the conversation some issues of further development of Russia-Benin mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, humanitarian and other areas, as well as preparations for the second Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg in July this year were discussed.
The meeting was held at the request of a Benin diplomat.
