Respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs will remain the pillars of Russia-Kazakhstan eternal friendship and alliance. This is stated in a congratulatory message from the Russian embassy in Astana on the occasion of Kazakhstan's Independence Day, celebrated Friday.
"Today Kazakhstan is an established democratic legal state with a high level of socio-economic development, a full-fledged and respected member of the world community. This is possible thanks to the unity and cohesion of the people of Kazakhstan, their patriotism and dedication to the national values. We sincerely rejoice at successes of Kazakh friends and all achievements of the republic, we welcome the course on realization of large-scale political and economic reforms in the country proclaimed by president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev", - noted in the embassy.
They also reminded that Moscow and Astana often reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening and dynamic development of the strategic partnership and integration ties based on respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference in each other's internal affairs. "These principles will continue to be the supporting pillars of the Russia-Kazakhstan eternal friendship and alliance," the congratulatory message stresses.
Earlier in Kazakhstan, Independence Day was celebrated as a national holiday, but in June Tokayev took the initiative to return this status to Republic Day. At the end of September, he approved relevant amendments to the legislation.
