The Russian Embassy in Washington has firmly denied any involvement by Russia in the internal affairs of other countries, including the United States. In response to recent claims by American intelligence agencies alleging that Russia circulated fabricated videos about electoral misconduct in the US, the embassy dismissed these accusations as unfounded.
“We noted the statements by American intelligence, accusing our country of spreading fabricated videos of election violations in the US We consider these allegations to be baseless. The embassy has not received any supporting evidence from US officials, nor any formal inquiries regarding the reports circulating in the media,” the embassy's statement read. It further emphasized, “Russia has not interfered and does not interfere in the internal affairs of other nations, including the United States. As President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated, we respect the choice of the American people. Any insinuations about 'Russian interference' are nothing but malicious slander, fabricated for use in US domestic political battles,” the diplomats affirmed.
The embassy also pointed out that before each election cycle, US authorities and media habitually claim "Russian disinformation and interference" as a convenient scapegoat for domestic issues. However, they have repeatedly failed to back up these accusations with evidence, the Russian diplomatic mission concluded.
