Every day Russia receives confirmations from the African countries on their participation in the second Russia-Africa summit, and Moscow waits for all African leaders at the meeting. Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's International Information Security Department Artur Lyukmanov said this on Thursday at the international IT forum "Russia - Africa: digital technologies as a driver of state development and international cooperation".
"I have a short message from my colleagues in the secretariat for the second Russia-Africa summit preparations at the beginning of my speech. Preparations for the second Russia-Africa summit, to be held in St. Petersburg in July, are well underway. Every day we receive confirmation of the participation from our African friends. We expect all leaders of the continent to attend the summit to jointly discuss ways of developing long-term strategic cooperation between Russia and Africa," he said.
According to Lyukmanov, an agenda for the upcoming event is currently being formed together with African partners and work is underway on its final documents. "The core idea of the summit is that Russia is ready to fully contribute to strengthening the sovereignty of the African states. We plan to include a discussion of issues related to the construction of a new architecture of the world order and the formation of a fair multipolar world, current problems of international security, including information, in the agenda" he added.
The second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum are scheduled for July 26-29 in St. Petersburg. The first event was held October 22-24, 2019, in Sochi under the motto "For Peace, Security and Development."
