Russia has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Kabul that claimed the life of Khalil ur-Rahman Haqqani, the Minister of Refugees in Afghanistan's government formed by the Taliban (banned in Russia). The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed its readiness to support the Afghan people in combating terrorism.
“The surge in subversive activities by ISIS (the former name of the terrorist organization 'Islamic State,' banned in Russia) in Afghanistan is a reaction to the measures being taken against it by the Afghan government,” the statement noted. “Russia stands in solidarity with Afghanistan's counterterrorism efforts and is prepared to provide necessary assistance.”
