The authorities of Kazakhstan and Russia are stepping up cooperation in the field of industrial cooperation, Russian Trade Representative to Kazakhstan Andrei Babko said on Friday.
"I would like to note the high dynamics of cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in the field of industrial cooperation. This is, perhaps, our trend. Interaction in this area is discussed at the highest level. Today we are implementing many joint projects in various industries, including projects for the production of cars, electric locomotives and tractors," he said at the panel discussion "Shifting priorities in Russia's foreign industrial policy and new markets. Topical areas of partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan", which is held as part of Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.
According to Babko, who spoke via video conference from the on-site studio in Astana, Russian companies have implemented more than 50 projects in Kazakhstan, with total investments exceeding $1.3 billion. He recalled that in July 2022 Kazakhstan acted as a partner of Russia at the international industrial exhibition "Innoprom-2022" in Yekaterinburg. "A new program of joint actions was signed, which provides for cooperation on 22 projects in seven industries. The portfolio includes such projects as the opening of a phosphate fertilizer plant, a construction materials enterprise, cooperation in aircraft building, machine building, and light industry. And in September this year we are planning to hold a visiting session of the exhibition "Innoprom - Kazakhstan" in Astana," said the Russian Federation trade representative.
According to him, thematic sections of the exhibition are being worked out now. "We hope for the participation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev in this exhibition," Babko said.
