The Republic of Tatarstan is keen to develop cooperation with Bahrain, Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated during his meeting with Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting was held in Minnikhanov's office at the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Minnikhanov emphasized that the Russian Federation places great importance on strengthening ties with Bahrain.
During their conversation, Minnikhanov noted his continued interest in visiting Bahrain, having participated in the Bahrain Forum in 2022 and the 19th Annual Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance in November 2024.
The Tatarstan leader also highlighted the conference held in Kazan in cooperation with the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) as part of the International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum."
Minnikhanov acknowledged the extensive work carried out through the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic World" and thanked Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa for his participation. He stressed that the involvement of such respected experts contributes significantly to developing important decisions.
