The captain of the Syrian  Sea Lord ship Mustafa Tartusi, which has been in the port of Kherson for the past four months, thanked the Russian military for its help with food supplies.

"In addition to the fact that about two months ago the Russian military gave us flour and all the necessary food, even, among other things, they gave us canned food that they had on hand so that we could eat. Then, when relations were normalized, we were told that any requests for medicines and food would be forwarded to us upon our first request. Thanks to the Russian servicemen for creating such conditions that we feel quite comfortable," Tartusi told TASS.

He clarified that the health of the crew members is excellent, the sailors continue to work under the circumstances. At the same time, the captain noted that the vessel is ready to depart from Kherson at any moment, the only thing that is missing is official confirmation of the safe exit.

In mid-March, the Russian defense ministry reported that the Kherson region was under full control of Russian troops. At the end of April, a civil-military administration was formed there to govern the region. A dual-currency system has been introduced in the region, the ruble and hryvnia are used, mobile phone service with +7 code is available, and Russian TV channels have been launched.
